Peaches and Crap

With all this crap about the everyday filing of impeachment cases going on, it's starting to turn ugly.

Well the common-sense solution to counter last year's junking due to technicality is repitition. It's just like RAID systems... repitition is a key factor. Its better to have mirror copies of your files somewhere, the more mirrors, the better, so when one mirror crashes, you can easily restore lost data. Parang ganun din sa impeachment ngayon... "Kung ang dahilan nila e maraming kaso tapos pipili lang ng isa, e di gawin natin a PAREPAREHO lahat para kung ano man yung piliin nila, e yun din yon."

I understand the fact that they really want this impeachment to be ACTUALLY heard... I mean, last year was a big disappointment, a big farce, a reflection of how low the philippine government has sunk.

Arrrgh kainis...

I was planning on making this post longer... but I'm so irritated that I wont be able to.

Haruhi x Haruhi, Arturia, and the 8-legged stallion

Watching Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu first, hearing the name "Haruhi" again (in Ouran) gives a weird feeling... a really weird feeling. But good thing "the other Haruhi" does not disappoint. Being voiced by Maaya Sakamoto is really a plus, she does a good job of it. Hrm... now that I think of it... Fujioka Haruhi and Suzumiya Haruhi share a lot of similarities. They both have brown hair and "brown" eyes, they both went from long to short hair, they're both tomboyish (not really sure about Suzumiya-san though...), and both are members of weird school clubs.

Fate/Stay Night is now over. Haven't watched ep24 yet though... Saber-chaaan...

I hafta watch Suzumiya Haruhi ep12... real bad...

Sleipnir's condition is still undetermined... so far it's "dead" but I need to make sure. Having said that, I need to replenish the stuff lost due to this misfortune (Ais-sama... sige na... pleeeease...).

(Hmm... baka 666-day after-effects... wag naman sana...)

I... need... Host... Club... and Higurashi... and Petopeto... and Utawarerumono... WAAAAAAAH!!! I WANT MY HARUHI BAAACK!!! and School Rumble 2nd... and the artbooks... T_T

Full Metal Alchemist was a very good series. The plot twist towards the end just made me go "WTF". I haven't seen a good twist like that for some time now.

Genshiken was... um... um... very good if you're an otaku but probably really bad if you're not. There's a lot of otaku-related stuff in there that anime-manga-game newcomers simply won't understand. I was laughing all the way because I get most of the show. And you can't really watch Kujibiki Unbalance without watching Genshiken first.

Summer's gonna end soon... so as my leeching sessions... sad... but that's reality.

And by the way, nothing happened to me on 666-day.

Once in a hundred years

Today is June 6, 2006 or in MM/DD/YY format, 06/06/06. I'm not superstitious but this is an event that happens only in a hundred years... the next 06/06/06 will be on 2106 and I probably won't live long enough to see it.

I'm sure there's a lot of superstition regarding the date today, just like every friday the 13th.

So far no evil or ominous things are happening to me. Not that I believe in that crap.

Where have all the Flowers Gone
by the Brothers Four

Where have all the flowers gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the flowers gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the flowers gone?
Young girls have have picked them everyone
Oh when will they ever learn?
Oh when will they ever learn?

Where have all the young girls gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the young girls gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the girls gone?
Gone to husbands everyone
Oh when will they ever learn?
Oh when will they ever learn?

Where have all the Husbands gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the Husbands gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the Husbands gone?
Gone to soldiers everyone
Oh when will they ever learn?
Oh when will they ever learn?

Where have all the soldiers gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the soldiers gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the soldiers gone?
Gone to graveyards everyone
Oh when will they ever learn?
Oh when will they ever learn?

Where have all the graveyards gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the graveyards gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the graveyards gone?
Gone to flowers everyone
Oh when will they ever learn?
Oh when will they ever learn?

Where have all the flowers gone?

The song popped in my head while I was watching the All is one, one is all episode of Full Metal Alchemist. I'm not really sure if Brothers Four was the original because some people say the Peter, Paul and Mary was the original artist for this song.

On a not-so-similar note, sleipnir (my external HDD) died this morning. The file system was destroyed but nothing that a good recovery program can't handle. I'm in the middle of restoring the drive as I type this.

God and Interactive philosophy

(2 posts in a day? Man I must be bored.)

I visited Celsus' blog recently and he had a link to various activities that you can do that deals with philosophical and logical ideas. Some of the interesting tests I've taken were the Battleground God test and the Morality Play test. The Battleground God test is about if you can survive the intellectual battlefield with your beliefs in God and the Morality Play serves as a reflection on how you would decide given situations becasue of your moral values.

In the Battlefield God test, I got no direct hits but I bit two bullets. The questions are interesting and they will make you think... a lot. Although I agree in general about the analysis, I feel the need to discuss one idea. It's about the non-existence idea. In my opinion, you cannot say that something does not exist by mere lack of evidence. That is, you cannot say that it does not exist just because it isn't there but you have to prove it's impossibility, that is, that it is impossible for it to exist or that it cannot exist. Oh well, that's my own gripe.

I can't really understand much of the result I got in the Morality Play quiz. But it still gave me insights on how I see things.

The number you dial is not yet in service...

Last week, I lost my phone... My mobile phone... It was a Nokia 3310. I had that phone for four or five years.

At first I just thought I left it somewhere so I called the people who stay at the places I visited that day. All of them had a negative response. That's when I finally realized it. The unthinkable has happened. For the first time in my insignificant life I lost my phone. It never happened to my previous phone.

I'll never forget the times we shared together. In good times and bad times... Those ringtones I composed using the composer, the list of names in my phonebook, the thick shape... the four-line message area, the circular contours... okay it's starting to get creepy.

Anyway, I already bought a new phone. It's not one of those new and high-tech models that has different features like a digicam, an mp3 player and whatnot, it's just a Nokia 1100. Yes, a Nokia 1100. Cheap, effective, efficient(it's faster than phones with color screens), it has a composer as well, and a flashlight. Damn! A Flashlight. Bet those other models can't beat that. And I would rather have a phone, digital camera and mp3 player as separate items. That way, if you lose one, you don't lose them all... at least theoretically.

I'm still getting used to my new phone and so far, it works fine with me. Good thing it has a composer for those times when I'm utterly bored.

Melancholy and the Infinite Weirdness

Well, not really infinite, but there's so much of it in Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu or "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" it becomes mind-numbing.

First of all to note is the "first" episode. What the staff did for this episode is what I can say "risky". I'ts good for people who have some background about the series but for people who are totally new, it could be bad. These people might not understand what's going on at all... a lot of "Huh?"s and "Wha???"s can dissuade potential followers of this series.

And then the episode order. Yes, the episode ordering...

It's totally messed-up. I mean... episode 2 is actually episode 1, episode 4 is actually episode 7 and so on... And I don't know where episode "1" falls in this lineup. This chaotic and confusing episode ordering made me make a guide n the episode listings which I will post if and when I can upload the text file.

Overall, the series is good because of the comedy especially those that revolve around Kyon's endless ranting.

Since there are a lot of blogs out there blogging about this series, I would not bother to do a by-episode blog. I don't do that stuff in the first place anyway. But too bad I can't post screenies...
